CONSULTANT BIO
How I Got Here
Over two decades as a principal and head of school in IB international schools teaches you a few lessons about the overwhelming importance of school culture. Sixteen years as an IBEN workshop leader, evaluation team member and consultant teaches you some more things about the necessity of connecting professional learning to practical experiences in school. Seven years working on a PhD examining the impact of patterns of discourse in schools teaches you that the small things always matter. The combination of these disparate but related experiences are the foundation of my 4-step process to locating your school's story and shifting school culture - one conversation at a time.
Services
Even a good plan rarely survives a day at school so all services are flexible and can be tailored to suit your school's context with adjustments along the way.
Possible combinations of services
All four of the services are stand-alone so you can select any to suit the type of support you require at this point in time. However, you may also find combinations of services useful. Below is a combination of all four services as an example.
1st
Leadership Program

Potential first step: You could start with a 4-week introduction for the leadership team who may be driving the process. During this period, we would meet regularly to plan the approach using the four steps and prepare an action plan based on your unique school context. Schools are unpredictable places so the service is as flexible as needed.

Coaching Series

Potential third step: Now that the action plan is in place, a small group of pedagogical leaders may benefit from a series of coaching sessions aligned to each step of the process. This may be particularly useful when implementing the structures introducing or shifting discourse routines in your school.

Workshop Series

Potential second step: In order to involve a broader range of people in the process, you may like to continue with a series of workshops introducing the nature and purpose of the process to teachers and other staff, or perhaps other community members. This could be a way to build on the action plan the leadership had made a start on.

Mentoring Program

During the process: As the school leader responsible for the process, you may like to have regular discussions about the process at work. Schools are complex places and shifting school culture in never straight forward. The mentoring process could be a useful way to access an outside perspective as well as general support and advice along the way.
